Nutritionist-approved Chili

This hearty and delicious chili is the perfect meal that’s good for you and comforting during the cold winter weather!

1 pound lean ground beef

1½ teaspoons salt

½ teaspoon pepper

1 medium onion

3 cans dark/light red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

2 - 14 ounces stewed tomatoes, not drained, no salt added (if you can find them), food processed so they are no longer large chunks

1 - 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper

2 tablespoons chili powder

1 tablespoon cumin

½ teaspoon paprika

Cook the beef in the frying pan, and then grind it up in a food processor. Add beef to the crockpot.

Chop your onion and add to the crockpot with the rest of the prepared ingredients.

Add up to 14 ounces of water. We recommend about 10-12 ounces, but depends largely on the consistency you prefer.

Cook on high for six hours, or low for the entire day
