We’ve been thinking about a specific word here at Nature’s Pathways for quite some time. It’s relatively small, but has a huge impact on all who utter it, feel it and most importantly, spread it.

Positivity.

While we put the finishing touches on this magazine issue, the weather is that of a Wisconsinite’s dream: sunny and warm with a mild breeze. Things, and people, seem different today. Strangers are smiling and saying “hello” more readily. There’s an overwhelming and overall sense of gratitude for the day. Positivity is everywhere we look.

It’s intrinsic and enjoyable, so why does positivity ever leave us? Weather can be poor, times get tough and everyone has bad days. But with all of the small and large gestures of kindness and optimism around us, why do we focus on the negative?

“There is a magnificent, beautiful, wonderful painting in front of you! It is intricate, detailed, a painstaking labor of devotion and love! The colors are like no other, they swim and leap, they trickle and embellish! And yet you choose to fixate your eyes on the small fly which has landed on it! Why do you do such a thing?” —C. JoyBell C.

A good attitude and happy outlook can be our most valued confidants and partners. Let’s always strive to focus on and trust them.

How do you feel about public speaking? Would you rather have a root canal? Some say they’d rather die! I suspect they are exaggerating, but it’s clear that public speaking is daunting for many of us. Actually, public speaking can be lots of fun and very fulfilling! You may not…
As the owner of Aerial Dance in Appleton, I always work out with women. I train with my staff and our students on hoop, hammock, silks and pole. We work on defying gravity, concurring our fears, erasing self-doubt, and all the standard fitness stuff like building strength and increasing flexibility.…
Vitamin D has been called the sunshine vitamin. Sunlight is known to be the most natural, readily available and free source of vitamin D. However, the importance of this vitamin is often neglected, because people in today’s world spend less time in the sun than ever before — which is…
