August 2016

It’s August!

It seems like just yesterday we wrote about snow and messy winter weather, and now we’re almost to the finish line to complete the summer of 2016. We can’t discount this last month before school begins again and fall is in the air. In fact, it seems to move at a slower pace than the rest. We come to the realization that 80-plus degree weather is on its way out so we better slow down and enjoy it while we can. Casual barbecues and outdoor parties reign supreme!

August is home to a number of lighthearted “holidays” too. Whether you take them seriously and plan a celebration, or simply use hashtags on social media (find us at @naturespathways) to commemorate these fun additions to the calendar, we’ve got a list of favorites — both the delicious and whacky — to indulge in for some silly entertainment to bring us into September.

August 3: National Watermelon Day

August 5: National Underwear Day

August 11: National Presidential Jokes Day

August 20: National Radio Day

August 22: National Pecan Torte Day

August 27: National Just Because Day
