While considering the topic of this installment of the “letter from the editor,” I did some internet research. My keywords included everything from April landscaping to astrology and associated upcoming events. I came across several lovely articles highlighting things correlated with the temperatures rising, and then I discovered what I didn’t realize I was looking for:
Nature’s Pathways relishes in promoting health in the form of nourishing and nutrient-dense meals and snacks, and we understand it’s made even easier with one specific ingredient: fresh, local produce. We’ve also declared our love for Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) food share programs. Be sure to see some of our favorite benefits!
In every issue, we include a recipe in our Healthy Eating column, and Nutritional Healing’s Cauliflower Grilled Cheese Sandwich — made without bread! — is quickly stacking up to be a favorite.
It’s easy to see food and cooking are never far from our minds, but when we sit down for a meal, it’s often not simply about the food. We gather to eat with friends and family during times of happiness and sorrow, when we’re anxious and relieved. Tears of joy and cries of grief both happen around the dining room table. It’s a comfort to break bread with our loved ones.
I hope you’re able to savor the food and company.
Bon appétit!
