Not surprisingly, I love words. Especially when they’re neatly packaged in what is known as the “inspirational quote.” The two words are an ever-trending hashtag on Instagram, garner about 62,000,000 search results on Google, and yet what constitutes it is entirely subjective.

According to Webster’s dictionary, inspiration is the “the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.”

But if any word is hard to define in reality, it’s that one. Inspiration is personal and varies from person to person, day to day. There are varying factors that affect what might motivate us at a given time: mood, travel, exercise, thought-provoking words — even competition (friendly or otherwise) can spark something in us to drive us to do better.

We’re all constantly learning what works and how to move forward positively and in the right direction for us. Life is a journey with some aspects we can control and others that are out of our hands. The one obstacle that stops us in our tracks is self-doubt, and that’s another of life’s non-negotiables. Insecurity and questioning our decisions is all a part of the ride. It’s how we deal with it that affects our attitude and perspective.

Our pages are full of information from a variety of sources, and thus, viewpoints. We love it this way! Depending on your frame of mind, a piece of advice in the following pages could create a wave of self-realization and discovery different than ever before. This month’s pages are filled with education on everything from nutrition and diet, thermography and the power of prayer to how to ensure your kitten is happy and healthy. Our feature story highlighting Sweet Willow Naturals stresses the importance of balance in all things and to continually seek out learning.

I’ve found having an open mind and heart (along with a beloved quote) helps in my navigation. What inspires you?
