When it comes to what’s focused on in “health,” the physical fitness aspect had reigned supreme for quite some time. And while it is an undoubtedly significant portion, it’s not the only thing that matters when it comes to overall well-being. Holistic health, i.e. the notion that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, is here to stay.

It’s the balance of all aspects — mind, body, spirit —that helps catapult us into true wellness. Each of the components add a great deal to tangible health, mental well-being and emotional happiness.

If you’ve been a reader of Nature’s Pathways Magazine for a while, it’s not a new message; however, mental health and complementary modalities are seeing much more time in mainstream media. Yoga, aromatherapy, integrative medicine and simply self-care are all now touted as being important pieces of the health puzzle.
