When it comes to what’s focused on in “health,” the physical fitness aspect had reigned supreme for quite some time. And while it is an undoubtedly significant portion, it’s not the only thing that matters when it comes to overall well-being. Holistic health, i.e. the notion that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, is here to stay.

It’s the balance of all aspects — mind, body, spirit —that helps catapult us into true wellness. Each of the components add a great deal to tangible health, mental well-being and emotional happiness.

“A vibrant body, a radiant mind, a loving heart and an honorable life.” —Stefan Emunds

If you’ve been a reader of Nature’s Pathways Magazine for a while, it’s not a new message; however, mental health and complementary modalities are seeing much more time in mainstream media. Yoga, aromatherapy, integrative medicine and simply self-care are all now touted as being important pieces of the health puzzle.

In this July issue, we have a balance of each of those gears to keep you feeling optimal. On page 25, Nicole Wettemann discusses depression and provides five things to be aware of. Lydia Singleton from Unity of Appleton talks about our unique expression of self on page 24. And Foundational Nutrition founder, Katie Jackson, tells us how to gain a stronger athletic performance on page 14. And so much more!

Take a few moments before flipping through the next several pages and consider your wellness routine. Are you nourishing your mind, body and spirit?
