We’ve been thinking about a specific word here at Nature’s Pathways for quite some time. It’s relatively small, but has a huge impact on all who utter it, feel it and most importantly, spread it.
While we put the finishing touches on this magazine issue, the weather is that of a Wisconsinite’s dream: sunny and warm with a mild breeze. Things, and people, seem different today. Strangers are smiling and saying “hello” more readily. There’s an overwhelming and overall sense of gratitude for the day. Positivity is everywhere we look.
It’s intrinsic and enjoyable, so why does positivity ever leave us? Weather can be poor, times get tough and everyone has bad days. But with all of the small and large gestures of kindness and optimism around us, why do we focus on the negative?
“There is a magnificent, beautiful, wonderful painting in front of you! It is intricate, detailed, a painstaking labor of devotion and love! The colors are like no other, they swim and leap, they trickle and embellish! And yet you choose to fixate your eyes on the small fly which has landed on it! Why do you do such a thing?” —C. A good attitude and happy outlook can be our most valued confidants and partners. Let’s always strive to focus on and trust them.
