Orthopedic & Spine Therapy

Orthopedic & Spine Therapy (OST) was established 22 years ago with a core philosophy to touch people’s lives in a very positive way. The founder of OST, Steve Barnett, PT, had a vision for physical therapy healthcare that included extensively training physical therapists in the practice of manual physical therapy, educating patients and giving those patients empowerment over their own health.

Steve established the company’s foundations with personalized one-on-one care in a private setting, compassionate care and treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. Steve stands by his mantra, “Healthcare is about people and helping to facilitate their recovery.”

Four divisions were born from the philosophy of being industry leaders with the approach to patient care: Massage Therapy, Women’s Health, Swing Solutions and WorkPlace Solutions.

OST has seen patients for workers’ compensation injuries since opening in 1989, but there was a need to create a niche in the workplace. WorkPlace Solutions division was created in 2007 for two reasons. First, for individuals, there was a need to evaluate, document and help patients/employees achieve their goals safely and quickly to regain full function. Second, for employers, there was a need to reduce the rising costs of workers’ compensation claims and insurance premium costs.

In addition to our extensive manual physical therapy skills, our OST physical therapists are also licensed and certified in nationally recognized return-to-work (RTW)/workers’ compensation programs. WorkPlace Solutions, through OST physical therapists, is licensed to offer on-site evaluations, functional job descriptions, functional capacity evaluations, work strengthening and other customized programs to suit the needs of any industry.

Suzanne Laurent, division manager for WorkPlace Solutions, sees a rising number of employers looking for preventative care instead of waiting until injuries take place. Many repetitious jobs can cause overuse injuries, which can be detrimental for the employee physically. There are many ways for employers to keep their workforces safe and healthy.

From its inception, OST has grown to 15 clinics throughout Wisconsin. Please call Suzanne at 920-257-2010 for more information or go to to find the tailored physical therapy solution that’s right for you.
