Harmony Cafe

Harmony Café is one of 26 programs operated by Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin, Inc. The first café opened in downtown Appleton in 2003 and moved to its new location at 233 E. College Avenue in May 2009. Harmony Café entered the Green Bay market in June 2008 with the opening of its cafe at 1660 W. Mason Street.

The cafés’ success as community-minded coffeehouses can be attributed to several factors: experienced and professional leadership; an awesome team of baristas; quality food at competitive prices; a shared mission of Goodwill to improve the community by improving the lives of its people; and a commitment to creating jobs for people who face barriers of employment. Customer satisfaction is and will remain our number one priority to further the growth of our Harmony Cafés. Between both locations we served over 100,000 customers in 2009 and hope to increase that by 10% this year. Both locations offer meeting rooms. Appleton has accommodations for thirty and Green Bay up to fifty.

The atmospheres of both cafes are very unique, but both offer the same fair trade organic and specialty coffees, full espresso bar, Chair and loose leaf teas, fresh fruit smoothies and other beverages. Our very popular bakery is homemade by the talented team in Green Bay. We are beginning to offer more vegan bakery items to compliment our vegan and vegetarian menu options. We provide a full menu ranging from breakfast sandwiches, omelets and waffles to sandwiches, wraps, salads and homemade soups. All menu selections are available at any time during hours of operation.

We began using fresh local products in support of area farmers last season and will continue to do this on a larger scale this year. Both locations participate in the local farmer’s markets. We also offer many catering options from traditional boxed lunches, party platters, some hot options and of course our coffee which we purchase from a local roaster in Green Bay, La Java. We contribute to the "green" movement by using containers and utensils made from renewable resources and recyclable
coffee cups.

The programs and groups that are provided at the cafes are accomplishments all by themselves. Everyday at either location you will find something helping make the community a better place. It truly is the vessel to help thousands of people every year. Just check out the events on our website, www.harmonycafe.org.

Harmony Café is a very unique brand and we recognize that. We are grateful to be in two communities. Most people that come in comment that it is hard to completely describe what the vibe is. But once you experience how welcoming it truly is, you have a craving to return. That is our goal. We strive to provide service, programs and food that exceed our customers’ expectations and to embrace diversity and full inclusion. Stop in and let us show you.
