When my husband and father wanted to go to lunch, I never would have thought to go to Great Harvest Bread Company as I thought they just sold bakery items there. However, a friend at my office recommended we try their wonderful soups and sandwiches.
Walking into Great Harvest, I was instantly warmed by the smell of freshly baked bread and was pleasantly surprised by the cute set up and tables for dining. With everything fresh and preservative-free, I was happy to be able to get my whole grain intake for the day in the form of one of the sandwiches amongst a wide variety of options.
I personally decided to go with the “Sandwich of the Month” which was a Hummus Veggie Sandwich. This delicious sandwich was served on fresh, homemade honey wheat bread that was delectably soft. Inside was a spicy homemade hummus spread with cheese and an array of fresh, crisp veggies. Usually I do not finish my lunch; however, this day I managed to finish the whole thing before my guests!
My husband tried the Tuscan Chicken Panini. This filling sandwich is served on savory focaccia bread with a sun dried tomato pesto spread, a perfect fresh and tangy complement to the full warmed chicken breast smothered with melted provolone cheese and served with lettuce and tomato. He was very satisfied with his order and said he would definitely be ordering it again. Now we will be torn with all of the options available!
My dad ordered the Cheddar BBQ Chicken Panini. We knew he very much enjoyed it because he continued to state, “This is really good!” throughout the entire meal.
The Great Harvest menu offers both a wide array of cold and warm options along with a breakfast sandwich. Be sure to add one of their warm soups to go on the side!
Before we left, I decided to stock up on our bread with a couple of different flavors and also decided to take home a package of four cinnamon rolls. After warming them up in the toaster oven for a bit, they were some of the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had!
Great Harvest Bread Company offers lunch and breakfast sandwiches in both Appleton, on Northland across from Festival Foods, and in downtown Neenah near the marketplace. Be sure to remember Great Harvest the next time you are looking for a casual and delicious lunch option or you are looking to fill your pantry with delicious homemade whole grains!
